Completely agree with the Ensemble guys that Age of Kings was their best game. I’m still waiting for another RTS game that does defense as well.
I also agree that Age of Kings was their best game, flaws and all. Age of Mythology was also very good, and while it simplified some things, it made other things much more complex.
I haven’t spent a lot of time with AoE3, so I can’t really put it on the scale. I do like off-map units though and the notion that not everything is built on-site.
