Sometime in the last few days, Flash of Steel topped one hundred thousand hits. Because of changes in location and template and all that stuff, it’s not exactly clear who or when it was. Hell, it may even have been me.
Anyway, thanks everyone. Let’s try to hit 200k by 2010.

That’s awesome. I hit 75k last month and I thought I was doing well!

You have a much better Alexa ranking, though.

Isn’t Alexa directly tied into folks actually using the Alexa tool?
Troy // Jan 18, 2008 at 5:29 pm
I’m not saying Alexa is a good measuring tool…just that Corvus has a better ranking there.

*eltrohc* Too funny.

Oh, no, I wasn’t trying to insinuate that Alexa is a bad measuring tool, but well, really inquire as to its methodology. I always hear conflicting reports on how best to measure general site traffic, with some folks swearing by Alexa and others pointing out that it’s skewed. If it based on some sort of widget it seems strange that it is often seen as some sort of authority.

The Long Shot just hit 1,000 recently. I’m right behind you! :D

One thing that motivates me to visit a site – whether or not I
JonathanStrange // Jan 21, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Links! That motivates me to visit some sites: they may not post much in the way of commentary but they’re “aware” of what’s going on. So I’ll go to a Tacticular Cancer or a Pajamas Media or Instapundit or etc. just to see if they’ve found an interesting article elsewhere. The upside is you’re not having to write lengthy posts daily, the downside is you’re having to find good stuff which may be just as time-consuming.

I don’t like Alexa. I’ve had 662,562 hits since I started my site in July 2005 and Alexa says I get like one per month.
