Firaxis’s Jon Shafer was recently on the Civ themed Polycast talking about game design as a job and art. I never posted about my Polycast appearance a while back, probably because I wasn’t very good.
However, I was brilliant on this week’s Jumping the Shark.

I’m addicted to Jumping the Shark ever since your first appearance. You were not lying, when you pointed out the unique chemistry between its participants. It’s a very enjoyable show and one of the few broader gaming podcasts that don’t rely on toilet humor (“that’s what she said!” etc.) to keep discussions lively.
Gameshark.com is a nice website with good reviews. I just wish the overall layout were better. I’m sure it has kept the greatness of the content from many visitors’ sight.

They have great chemistry, but I miss Danielle. Last week Brandon almost made me cry with his orphan stories.
I am happy to be affiliated with the site, and everyone knows the layout sucks. Trick is finding time and money and talent to fix it.

I really appreciate the comments.
So, wait, Troy–are you saying Danielle is the straw that stirs the drink? That’s *my* job!

It’s great to hear you talk more about games/gaming in general, Troy, free from the “MC ettiquette” that you display so well in TMA. Very interesting discussion, like always.
Let me just take the opportunity to congratulate the JtS “ensemble” for putting out week after week such a great podcast. I’ve been following you guys since the first edition and I’m a big fan of the show. It’s always a nice way to star the week. Keep up the good work!
Cheers!
