WW2GenCom: Op WotR

July 31st, 2008 by Troy Goodfellow · 3 Comments · Industry, Wargames

Or, if you insist on writing the full name:

World War II General Commander – Operation: Watch on the Rhine

When it comes to awkward titles, the only things that can compete with wargames are motivational/inspirational autobiographies or journal articles on post-structural hermeneutics.

I also somehow doubt that it is the “first real time operational strategy” game. It’s just the first game to call itself that.

I don’t know – if going through WW2 in it takes six years, then it really would be the first real time operational strategy game. ;)

this looks promising – nice to see someone trying something different within the genre.

Titles can be tricky but as clunky as it sounds, it’s not too bad. Boring, but better than “WW2: To The Extreme!”

Oh, yeah, wasn’t there a “Die Wacht Am Rhein” game already? Maybe all you have to do is translate something into another language, add some more words, et voila!
