That’s confusing on a number of levels. First, it seems odd that 2K would run a team for over a year and then can the team and title. Second, I’m still trying to grasp what a Civ MMO would be and why people would want to play it given there is already a multiplayer option with Civ games.
Sarkus, all they need to do is nuke or otherwise minimize the leaders and allow everyone to play civs-within-civs; that is, I might play as the Carthaginians but so are 10,000 other people. It would be a Powers of 10 thing, the game is operating one or a few orders of magnitude more granularly, but within the same rough structure of Civ as a system and game. They also could make it move with more of a historical clock and not have all of the powers start at the beginning. I can imagine a lot of interesting possibilities. It becomes more of a true civilization builder as opposed to something that enables gamey things like Quechua rushes.
I would rather have 2k make an X-Com mmo. They own the rights, and it would make more sense than a Civ mmo. I love Civilization, but I wouldn’t pay money every month to play with a couple hundred thousand idiots.

I was under the impression the Civ Facebook app would be their MMO now. Wonder if there’s a connection.
