Don’t forget the day-zero patch: http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=214958

Indeed a rookie mistake. I confess to being guilty too. You’d think that Steam would have this whole digital delivery system thing down by now :)

I imagine it is more a matter of reducing costs than not knowing it is going to happen. If bandwidth use triples every few months should they install a huge amount of new hardware that barely gets used?

Got my key today from THQ and downloading now. 40% and counting! Review March 1st!

Heh. Really thought you knew better… :)

I’d be interested in knowing if the Day 0 patch is only for the retail boxed version, or if it is also required for the Steam version.
It would be very sad if it was required for the Steam version – with the short timelines for digital download GMs there should be absolutely no need for that.
(I have, however, learned to forgive Day 0 patches for retail versions, given the up to 30 days lead time for production – in that case the Day 0 patch becomes thirty days of “bonus material” :) )

When I downloaded my game yesterday, it was already the patched version, for what it’s worth.

So, are you getting a look at the ETW demo as well, or are you too caught up in DOW2?

I read Tom Chick’s review of DoW2 on Crispy Gamer. I disagree on several points. I like the campaign and the meaningful inclusion of RPG elements. Sure, the missions are repetitive, but they are action-packed and short. I’m not quite sure what he was expecting. Not having access to all of the races in the campaign is a limitation, but not that big of a deal considering the story. I like the interface: what about it makes it “underdone?” He makes no specifics; it has all of the units easily accessible from the right side and bottom of the screen. Rant over.

@James Allen
Glad I am not the only one who disagrees with everyone who doesn’t like the campaign.
@Michael, I downloaded it, but as of yet, haven’t got round to playing on it. I started loading one mission, but is seemed to be taking for ever. Then, when it finally did, it was too late; my only thoughts was, where is the user interface?!

I think Tom was expecting some semblance of an AI.
