My review of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is up at Gamesradar.
I really like this game. The more I play it, the more I think I should have invested time in at least some of the other CnC games.

The original C&C was really good and quite innovative for it’s time. The series gradually deteriorated into poorly thought out and often buggy games.
But some of them were gold … might have to get this new one. When I find some time. Still haven’t played Supreme Commander.

The original is classic, where by “classic” I mean “old.” That said, it’s worth running through the game to experience some of the C&C heritage. The second game was okay, but I have a special annoyance with it as the game that forever disillusioned me about pre-release hype.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Kane Edition???
Will I let them sucker me in with a “limited edition” premium copy?

You can get caught up all at once on C&C history with Command & Conquer: the First Decade. I played through Red Alert 2 for the first time recently and really enjoyed it.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is what originally got me into what might qualify as “hardcore” PC gaming, as it was termed back then. I haven’t really played a single RTS game since Red Alert 2’s expansion, which apparently has been a good thing in terms of this series specifically. I’ve mostly been hanging out in the turn based realm, though I just may pick up a copy of this game. I suppose I should get a demo & check it out. After all, I did reinstall C&C2: Tiberian Sun on my new box to see how fast those Hover MLRS’s would bounce up and down on my shiny, new, overclocked E6400. (in case you’re curious – faster than the monitor’s refresh rate; it had tearing issues) I playing 1.8 skirmishes on the default map until it froze & crashed… =(
