If it’s a December issue, you know it has a gift guide in it, full of things that I didn’t even know existed. Like IPod cradles. I mean, I knew they were out there, I just didn’t know they came in so many versions.
The Goodfellow stuff is in good supply. My reviews of JTF: Joint Task Force, Sims 2: Pets, Victoria: Revolutions and Distant Guns are in there as well my monthly Alt.Games column (Sea Bounty, Dwarf Fortress and Kudos). There’s also a preview of Europa Universalis III – the images are already grossly out of date, judging by the progress Paradox is making.
Read it for the extended Hellgate: London preview and editor Steve Bauman’s annual plea for adult gamers to be taken seriously as a market.
More comments on the games I covered as I ruminate.

The first issue of my subscription arrived last week so I’ll call off my imaginary jihad against Steve Bauman. Overall, the mag (or at least the two issues I’ve read) seems to be a fine improvement over my canceled PC Gamer subscription. However, I was a little disappointed to see Victoria Revolutions given one paragraph and the San Diego Comic Con getting two whole wasted pages. And then there’s the ten page Sharper Image Buying Guide.
