Civilization IV was waiting for me when I got home today. Waiting out in the rain, nonetheless. Stupid UPS.

And I have to get up at 5:00 am tomorrow morning.

There is no justice.

    I hope to god you don’t have an ATI card. It appears that 75% or more of ATI users are not able to get the game to run because of a engine initialization error.

    I’m a victim of this, and the Civfanatics/Apolyton forums are crawling with very angry ATI users. The really new, high end cards have a better success rate, but it’s still no guarantee of functionality.

    Anyway, until Firaxis solves this little issue, we aren’t going to be having any matches, I’m afraid.

    Also, a few thousand English versions were shipped with french tech tree posters. This is starting to become one of the less auspicious game releases in recent memory.
